What Information We Collect

We deliberately keep data collection to a minimum. KidFun.us has no user accounts, no login, no online store, and no newsletter sign-up. The only personal information you provide to us directly is what you choose to send through our Contact form.

  • Information you give us through the Contact form. When you contact us, we collect your name, email address, subject line, and the content of your message. This information is emailed to the site owner so we can read and respond to you. We use it only to reply to you and keep a record of our correspondence.
  • Information collected automatically. When you visit, our hosting and analytics tools may automatically record limited technical and usage data, such as your approximate location (typically at the city or region level), browser type, device type, operating system, the pages you view, referring links, and the date and time of your visit. We use a privacy-respecting analytics tool that measures aggregate, non-identifying traffic; it is not designed to identify you personally.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect only for the following purposes:

  • To read, respond to, and follow up on messages you send us through the Contact form.
  • To understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the site so we can improve our content and the recommendations we publish.
  • To operate, maintain, and secure the website, and to diagnose technical problems.

We do not use your information to build advertising or marketing profiles, and we do not send marketing emails (we have no newsletter).

Cookies & Analytics

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. KidFun.us may use cookies and similar technologies for two limited purposes: to power our privacy-respecting analytics, which measures aggregate, non-identifying traffic, and to remember basic preferences so the site works smoothly for you.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can set most browsers to refuse cookies or alert you when one is being placed. Disabling cookies may affect how some parts of the site function, but you can still read our content.

Advertising

KidFun.us does not currently display any advertising.

We may introduce advertising in the future, such as Google AdSense. If and when we do, the following will apply, and we will update this policy before any ads go live:

  • Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to KidFun.us and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of personalized advertising from many third-party vendors at aboutads.info.

Some pages on KidFun.us may include affiliate links (for example, links to book tickets or buy passes). Affiliate links do not by themselves collect personal information from you; if you click through and make a purchase, the destination merchant or affiliate network may set its own cookies and is governed by its own privacy policy. See our Terms of Use for our affiliate disclosure.

Children's Privacy

KidFun.us is written for parents and caregivers, not for children. While our subject matter is family-friendly, the site is intended for adults who are planning outings for kids.

In keeping with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information through our Contact form, please email us at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.

Third-Party Links

Our pages link to outside resources, including the official websites of parks, water parks, museums, restaurants, and other venues we write about, as well as other helpful third-party pages, and may include affiliate links to ticketing or booking partners. These sites are operated by others and are governed by their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of any third-party site, and we encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising or with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We may share limited information only in these narrow circumstances:

  • Service providers. Our website host, email provider, and analytics tool process data on our behalf so the site can operate. They are permitted to use this information only to provide those services to us.
  • Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required to do so by law, or if we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect our rights, or protect the safety of others.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the limited information we collect, and we keep Contact form messages only as long as needed to respond to you and maintain our records. However, no website or method of electronic transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please avoid sending sensitive personal details through the Contact form.

Your Choices & Rights

You are always in control of whether you contact us, and you can manage cookies through your browser as described above. You may also ask us to access or delete the personal information we hold about you. To make a request, email us at [email protected] and we will respond within a reasonable time. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

California residents. If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended, gives you certain rights, including the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, the right to request access to or deletion of that information, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected].

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices, such as the introduction of advertising, or for legal or operational reasons. When we make changes, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
