Run by the City of Baytown, this pirate-themed outdoor park fits a real range of attractions into one affordable spot, from toddlers splashing in inches of water to teens dropping down thrill slides, which makes it a dependable warm-weather outing for a group with a wide spread of ages.

Where it is

Pirate's Bay Waterpark is at 5300 E Rd, Baytown, TX 77521, roughly 30 minutes east of downtown Houston. Season and hours

This is a seasonal, summer-only outdoor park. For the 2026 season it opens May 23 and runs through the summer, open seven days a week once the season is in full swing, generally 11am to 6pm, with two regular twists:

• Toddler Tuesday: an early 9:00–10:30am session geared to little ones (starting June 1).
• Friday nights: the park stays open later on Fridays (to about 9pm).

Pirate's Bay has a genuinely deep lineup. Many of the bigger rides have a minimum height (commonly 42 or 48 inches), so it helps to know who can ride what before you arrive.

• Map your route first: the duplicate "East Road" names nearby trip up GPS.
• Beat the crowds: weekends get busy; arrive near opening.
• Coolers welcome (with a pass): you can bring a cooler with the park's cooler pass, and there's plenty of covered seating, plus on-site food stands if you'd rather not pack.
