The Art Car Parade
Location – Downtown
The Art Car Parade is a fun event that takes place every year Downtown. This year, the parade will start at 2 pm on Saturday, and there will be plenty of activities to keep you entertained. The “starting line party” begins at 11 am and will include music, drinks, and art cars. If you’re looking for something to eat, there are food trucks available at Parade Central starting at 11 am. If you want to catch the parade, it will begin at 2 pm and go down Smith Street to Pease Street and Walker Street. Note that the route has changed this year, so check the map before going. The Art Car Parade is free to attend, so come out and enjoy the show!

Space City Paddle Fest
Location: Clearlake Park – 5001 E NASA Pkwy, Seabrook
The Space City Paddle Fest is a new event that is taking place this year. They are excited about it, and there will be four races for different paddle crafts and skill levels. There will be a 5K course held on Mud Lake for novice and recreational paddles. There will be a 13K mile race for marathon canoe paddlers. Clear Lake Park should be a great place to host this event. There is a ton of parking, restrooms, playground, ball fields, etc.

Chappell Hill Bluebonnet Festival
Location: FM 1155
The Chappell Hill Bluebonnet Festival is a great event to attend if you’re looking for something fun to do with your family. There are over 250 exhibits; the best part is that there is no admission fee! You can enjoy pony rides, a petting zoo, face painting, barrel train rides, and more. Be sure to stop by the Wildflower Photo exhibit and take some pictures. This event was voted #7 by Texas Highways Magazine as one of the most popular festivals in Texas.

Houston Pet Expo
Location: Pasadena Convention Center
The Houston Pet Expo will be this weekend at the Pasadena Convention Center. Bring your pet to this free event and enjoy a variety of exhibits, giveaways, and fun. There will be opportunities to adopt rescue animals, get discounted vaccinations and microchips, and more. Be sure to catch the lure chasing demonstrations, live entertainment, and obedience demonstrations.

Midtown Art in the Park
Location: Baldwin Park
The fine art festival is free, and you are sure to learn about cultural arts. The event is held every April, and it’s known for being a fun cultural experience. Food trucks, local and regional artists, boutiques, and more will be there.

This event is an excellent opportunity to learn about different cultures and art forms. The festival is free to attend, so mark it on your calendar! You’ll be able to enjoy food trucks, art displays, and more.

Youth Orchestra Festival (Houston Symphony)
Location: Jones Hall
The Houston Symphony is excited to host the first annual Youth Orchestra Festival. This event is an excellent opportunity for young musicians to perform at Jones Hall. It is free to attend, and you do not need tickets.

Asia Society Center – Family Creation

The Asia Society Center is hosting a free event called Family Creation. This event will be focused on the creation of Persian puppets. Visitors can enjoy stories told using hand puppets and marionettes and learn about the puppet-making process. There will be different stations reflecting each step in puppet-making. This event is perfect for families with children interested in Persian culture and arts.
